Real-estate tycoon Mitchell Granger has a problem. In order to secure a lucrative deal with an eccentric client, he told the teeny white lie that he was engaged…and now he needs to prove it. Even worse? The only name that came to mind was Sabrina Becker, the girl he was never good enough for growing up, and who still lives near his family ranch.
Sabrina doesn’t mind posing as Mitch’s fake fiancée—no, she doesn’t mind at all. One, she’ll make him pay with new construction for her business. And two, Sabrina’s got a plan to exact revenge on her first love, the boy who left her and Three River Ranch behind. She’ll pretend so well, he’ll fall in love with her…and then he’ll get a taste of what true heartbreak feels like.
But as Mitch sheds his corporate skin and picks up his dusty jeans and cowboy hat, will both his and Sabrina’s grand plans get derailed by love?
Since starting this blog, my reading selection has grown from just paranormal/vampire romance to historical, westerns, new adult and more. I love being able to discover new authors and new genres I find interesting. Westerns/Cowboy romances are definitely one of those genres I never knew I would like until I started reading them for reviews. Not being a big country music fan, I was a little leary of the subject, but let me tell you! This novel is a prime example of cowboys that rock!
I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about Mitch at first, having to side with Sabrina on this one. Leaving your pregnant girlfriend just doesn’t sit right with me. And not having the experience from the first three books, I didn’t know if I had missed any important information that would redeem him in the reader’s eyes. But never fail, you fall in love with the cowboy and all is right in the world. Sabrina on the other hand, who was all too eager to pretend to be Mitch’s fiancé in order to get her revenge on him, fell a little flat for me.
This was a sweet story that took me on a nice ride outside of reality. I wish I had read the first two books before this, and I still might go ahead and do that. I would recommend Fake Fiancé, Real Revenge to anyone who is looking for a cute, quick read. Just try and pick up the first two in the Three River Ranch Series before hand 😉
